NLRB quorum disruption
The National Labor Relations Board was stripped of a working quorum by removal of board members, halting most decision-making. Court challenges are ongoing.
This action is underway. The work is to slow, redirect, or stop it.
Detail
The administration moved to remove NLRB board members in early 2025, reducing the five-member board below the three-member quorum required to decide cases. Federal courts have been litigating the removals' legality; some were reinstated on appeal, others remain vacated. Reversal requires either lawful re-appointment (requires Senate confirmation) or a court order fully reinstating removed members.
